Why I don't think valorant will beat CSGO

Valorant Won't fail, because it's fun unique (to some extent) and well a lot of people like it!
I do get most of your points and by all means they are valid. The game has a long way to go to be as popular as LoL or cs:go.

CS:GO players are probably a little bit biased over the fact that the game is similar to CS:GO, and I get the reason why.
But look at Dota 2 v LoL, where Dota came first then league of legends. Same thing happened in that situation.

y844kst i feel a league and dota situation is very unique. Not mamy other big games keep an even following like that when so similar. And personally i think ur right it wont 'fail' i just dont think itll reach a csgo type peak in its current state.

For me, Valorant is more fun then CS:GO since it adds these unique characters with everyone having different abilites (I come from Overwatch & Rainbow Six Siege). I get that many people like the competitive thing of CS:GO but for me a game also needs to be fun and not just competitive.

Hmm, I think it is a very debatable subject. I guess it depends on many factors. I think there will be regions where Counterstrike will die, and valorant would be on top, just like in North America. In general, I think both games are great, and they will have their own "audience." I am more into Counterstrike, but I also like playing valorant as I consider it a great game where you can have a lot of fun. However, I haven't played these games for a while. I can't even remind all csgo ranks. I hope counterstrike would finally get the new Source 2 engine, and it would eventually become better.

I think, in the long run, one of the biggest factors that will determine whether VALORANT beats CS:GO is updates and how much the devs care about the game. If the CS:GO devs don't step up their game, in 5 years VALORANT might have a bigger scene than CS.
