Skill Based Matchmaking?

Hello. I am a pretty new player in this game. Up until today I did sort of well in a match for my standards. But now I get into a match where i go 2 and 18, and people cussing me out for some reason. This was my worst match in my entire time in this game, and I am just surprised, it seemed they all head shot me as soon as I turn the corner, I get that theyre really good players but I didnt expect to be put up against such pro players. It was an absolute roflstomp, and my team took their anger on me. So, is there any skill based matchmaking, or was that just an unlucky game? Thank you

So...first of all welcome to Valorant. Here the things are diffrent than other games, you don't need just reflex, you need to use your skills wich is very important to know that. This is just a point, the other point is: you need to anticipate everything, put your sight on and shoot in advance with 1 millisecond. Bye ! <3

I never heard of SBMM until today. According this article, there is. Not a lot of people like it for some reason but for me I don't mind having sbmm. It's better than having to queue up with someone that has no understanding of the game and be placed with people of equal skill level. If you're getting stomped then practice! Ironically, I don't practice as much but even I know that this is an important method to use if you want to get good.

It's not said there IS skill based matchmaking.... He said there WILL BE skill based matchmaking...
So far I do not at all sense anything like that!
SBMM was great done in Apex Legend! It was a huge improvement to random play!
But IF there is SBMM allready in Valorant unanked mode (I doubt it!), it is poorly done!

Flashshark80 maybe there is, but still as... test?!
I played closed beta since day one. The MM was much better than it is now. Don't know why. Nevertheless I'm pretty sure it will improve.
