Riot tracked your ELO through unrated and it affected your placement games.

I tried posting this in the Valorant subreddit and the mods wouldn't let it through. I think it's a legitimate concern about how they have handled the ranked system. Meanwhile they let posts like this through. Honestly can't understand why unless they are trying to cover their own asses. Here is a link to my post being removed and what it said.

imagine trying to place people in ranked using stats from a completely different mode where trolls ruin matches even harder... facepalm

team based games in 2020 are a lost cause with gaming companies doing everything possible to screw you over... i mean seriously why have a "hidden" elo whats the point?

why cant we just have a pure number that we/players can see so we can actual tell if we are wasting our time or not....

HybridMeister I don't have screenshots but it's not speculation. Before we both played even one game of competitive it told us we couldn't play together because of skill disparity. That alone tells you they were tracking ELO and applied it to competitive before it was released.

Update: I posted a question asking about combat score in the subreddit and it went straight through without having to be "approved by a moderator".... Hmmmmm.......

This just reminds me of early days of rainbow6:siege ranked, when they did the same mistake.
I got placed into silver because of it, even playing on platinum level.... my friends got into platinum even i was the carry, but they didn't fool around so much in casual like me.
During that period until they fixed it, i got so many kills and wins in ranked, that my stats are still better than from proplayers and takes forever to even out. People still keep asking me if i cheat or how i got so good stats and i have to explain it every single time.

I realy would like to know how their ranking works, i got a feeling that it doesn't promote the best players if i check the points after a match (sometimes i got most kills, assist, plants, defuses and less death... and yet i'm not on rank 1 from efficiency and points, but MVP). Maybe they just used a moba algorythm...
