  • This game is pretty boring tbh

I've been playing for the last 4 days and when I started, the game seemed fun but it bored me really quick. The movement of the characters is too slow and they look really weird [for a fps], some abilities are way more powerful than others and shooting just doesn't feel right. It feels like the shooting was heavily inspired by CSGO but the characters along with their movement and animations feel like a bad copy of Team Fortress 2; Might aswell give up on the current weapon loadout and add some grenade/rocket launchers , flame throwers and a wider variety of melee weapons and make this game a fun action fps.

I can see this game being played competitive but never at the level of csgo which is a hardcore fps which this game can never be in its current state.

Its a decent game but imo, it needs major improvements and reworks of the characters; Or new characters;
After a few games all I want is to play some CSGO

I am sorry for this bad review but I expected a better game considering all the hype. Having to waste a week watching other streamers play so i can get my chance to play a BETA game made me think that this is really THE hardcore FPS we've all been waiting for.

I mean those are some pretty lofty expectations you have. aside from being in beta, it sounds like the only way this game could have reached the bar you set, is by instantly being the best game you've ever played, the very first time you played it. or close to it since in 4 days of beta, it's already essentially been deemed not worth your time.

Character changes and reworks happen everyday... thats the point of beta. sage and raze for example have both been tweaked in response to player feedback.

new characters? it was released in beta on the 7th. aside from the fact that it looks as if new character info was already leaked, you're expectations for a FTP game, thats weeks old and still in BETA are crazy.

the impression i get, is that you are used to CSGO. you are so used to and like it so much, that anything different just wont be up to par. and thats cool. everyone has preferences.

Yes its true that I like CSGO but thats not the point. I also enjoy Overwatch, TF2 and even Valorant. They are fun to play, but they dont feel that competitive and skill based to me. The plays and tactics depend too much on your characters abilities and it feels that aiming and shooting fall in 2nd place.

I understand this is a beta ftp game which is why I didn't mention the weird glitches (where characters can teleport outside the map) or the really bad sound (when I can clearly hear the enemy running but I can't tell where he is coming from). Those issues will most likely be fixed in time and I am aware of that; I was mentioning only core aspects of the game.

boom0159 ya the sound bothers me as well. its less directional than it is knowing which part of the map floor, makes which sound. while metal and gravel do make different noises when walking on them the sound shouldnt emanate from everywhere lol.

i feel like this game is trying to bridge or fill a gap between games like CSGO and OW. im an OW guy and when i play against CSGO guys i get wrecked. but i do well otherwise.

so your probably right in that the game is trying to be less dependent on skill. theyre probly trying to let less skilled players contribute and feel useful(like myself 😃) with abilities. still like 90%(probably more) of the kills at my level come from shooting.

in the end, while it'l help to take a round or 2 for bads(again like me 😃), by and large pro shooters are still going to win most of their matches. IMO anyways

I like valorant, and the increased focus on abilities and ability strategy. Jumping bean aiming games are not my thing, and while they still exist in Valorant, I like that their importance is minimized.

I also like that they put serious effort into preventing cheats in their entire game design.. (not just with a cheat detector)

A Valorant player's game client doesn't even know the locations of players who are not nearly visible.. so wallhacks can't give you the outrageous advantage you get in other FPS games. And I believe they evaluate bullet-spread on the server side.

I find the abilities not really the most important. In my games when we win is usually because we win the gun fights, not with abilities. The only character at the moment that is OP in my eyes is Cypher but no one talks about that for some reason. Info on where your enemies are is so crucial, especially if you have a well-coordinated team.

But yeah, very good gunplay wins always, at least what i can see..
