So I’m getting a computer next weekend and I was wondering if it’s safe to play the game. I’ve seen people saying it’s malware (I’m smart enough to know it’s not) but they still make valid points. It’s a 1000$ pc and I wanna take good care of it. So I can sacrifice valorant for a while until they sort this out. I can play cs:go. I’m just wondering what it acccually does without the drama bullshit. Any help would be appreciated!
So I’m getting a computer
It's completely safe to play the game. People need to understand that Vanguard has to be very intrusive to catch most cheaters.
Protokk but what about all the stories of the people who’s graphic cards die or FPS drops dramatically? Are they just coincidences?
FayzDonaldDuck I'm going to flex here and say my PC is worth $2000+. I've been playing Valorant w/ Vanguard since beta, and I still play it.
Consider this: for every single "Vanguard horror story" you hear, there are likely 1,000+ users who've had no issues. Someone who's had a negative experience is much more likely to vocalize and share it rather than someone without.
For example, I often get strawberry milkshakes from Burger King. I've had dozens and dozens of strawberry milkshakes, and all of them have been tasty and refreshing. I had a positive experience with each milkshake, but I didn't really care to go out and tell everyone how amazing it was.
Now let's assume I got a bad milkshake. Let's say I bought a strawberry milkshake today, and there was a dead fly in it. I've had dozens of milkshakes without issue, so I never cared to share my experience. Now is different - I've encountered something negative albeit rare, and I have the urge to express Burger King's faultiness in whatever manner possible. I go on Reddit and Twitter with a picture of my bad shake, telling everyone how awful Burger King is.
Vanguard is that strawberry milkshake. The dozens of shakes prior (and in Vanguard's case, probably thousands of shakes) were all fine, which meant you probably weren't going to hear about it.

HybridMeister ok that’s what I figured. Still think it’s nuts though that it’s always active. But yeah I’ll be downloading it because I’ve been waiting to play this since it’s trailer
So it’s mostly just people without up to date drivers that get screwed over right?
I have a high end PC and was worried about Vanguard initially as well. I’ve logged several hours in this game since it came out of beta and haven’t had any issues.
